About the Art:
A hypnotic sweeping curve and an iridescent glow take center stage in this composition. As the sun was setting in Death Valley, I was studying the massive pile of sand known as the Eureka Dunes. The mission was to simplify the scene and I did so with a super long lens. To me, this is my meditative process. Find a quiet place, remove the distractions, focus on a simple visual pattern, and visualize how impactful the scene feels to me.
After some practice in patience, the sunset rewarded me. The dunes reflected a soft magenta glow that peaked over the horizon.
