About the Art:

I was booked to capture the performance of Daniel Caeser this night. I arrived late to the venue and I headed straight to the stage to capture the opening act of the night. Much to my surprise, I was the only photographer in between the barricade and the stage. I took advantage and hit every angle. Stage left, stage right, switching lenses in-between each shot before I ultimately landed front and center. With each click of the shutter, the crowd disappeared behind me until it felt like I was the only person left in the room.

I was completely mesmerized. It felt like this performance was only for me. The room was silent and I snapped one last picture, the one you see here. I let my camera rest at my side and soaked it all in. Just as fast as it had slowed down, security tapped me on my shoulder and pointed toward the exit. The noise from the crowd returned and I made my way out.

There's an unspoken rule in concert photography that the photographer can only be in the pit for the first fifteen minutes of the act. I had no idea. It was my ignorance that rewarded me with an unforgettable experience.
