About the Art:
On a warm evening in one of my favorite places to unwind, Venice Beach. I noticed a lone sail boat off in the distance making its way out to sea. I crouched down in the sand to watch the vessel float through the frame. Meanwhile, my imagination began to fill with ideas about who this character was, what was left behind, and the final destination of this voyage. I thought to myself of all the times I wanted to pack my bags and start somewhere brand new, but was afraid to take the plunge into uncertainty. On the other hand, I thought about the moments I took on new challenges without knowing where they might take me. While my imagination was running wild, I took out my camera and waited patiently for the right moment.
Once my image was captured, I watched this vessel fade away into the horizon wishing him a safe and successful journey into the unknown. "Voyager" will always serve as a reminder that it's ok to begin a new journey in search of a new beginning.
